Max Biaggi came to the world of motorcycling almost by chance, when a friend, after much insistence, convinced him to follow him to the Vallelunga circuit near Rome for an afternoon on the track. As they say, it was love at first sight. And from that moment his slow ascent to the podium of motorcycle GPs began. Among the most victorious riders of his generation, he was four-time World Champion in the 250 class (consecutively from 1994 to 1997) and two-time World Superbike Champion (2010 and 2012). He holds with Britain’s Phil Read the absolute record of titles won in the 250 class, while with the laurels achieved in the production derivatives he was the first Italian to triumph in this category. Together with American John Kocinski he shares the exceptionality of having won a world championship with both prototype motorcycles and production derivatives. Since 2016 he has been the owner of the Max Racing Team and in December 2021 he set a new speed record on an electric motorcycle by reaching a top speed of 470, 257 km/h.
